Naughty Robbie

“Can I go play now?” Robbie asked his mom for the 4th time.
The doorbell rang. As his mom rushed out of the kitchen, she yelled, “Yes, you can play now.”
Robbie kicked open the abused kitchen screen door and darted outside. He could see his best friend, Glenn, was on his way to the hollow. Like an older brother, Glenn taught Robbie how to fight, climb trees and talk to girls.
Robbie ran down the wet cement steps onto the garage patio, hopped over the 3-foot guard rail, shimmied down the flag pole, and was on his way to the hollow. He grabbed his trusty slingshot from off the old dog house as he flashed past.
When he reached the hollow, Glenn was climbing the big tree in the center of the green backwoods next to the mossy stream. A few frogs were creaking.
As Robby looked up, he could see Glenn’s butt. Without thinking and for no good reason at all, Robby took his slingshot and nailed his friend with a perfect bullseye. There was a loud screech.
Then terror struck. Robby knew he was in trouble. He ran away, laughing and terrified at the same time.
Glenn spent hours chasing after Robbie. Finally, Robbie gave up. Standing on the patio above the garage, he leaned against the railing with his bottom poking out. “Go ahead and shoot me. I deserve it.”
There was a violent pop and Robbie was screaming and fake crying. “Sorry, that might have been too hard,” Glenn said with sympathy.
“It’s ok. I’m sorry for shooting you in the tree,’ Robbie sobbed.
The two best friends wandered off to find something else to do. When Glenn wasn’t looking, Robby removed the secret protective padding from the back of his pants.
